Tune into the Hollywood Insider for This Weekend's Box Office Prediction

Lots of variety this weekend at the movies.  For romantics, there’s The Vow with hunkalicious Channing Tatum and the lovely Rachel McAdams. If you’re looking for adventure and want to see a new depiction of Atlantis, there’s Journey 2. If you want to see an action thriller, there’s Safe House starring two of my big screen crushes Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington. And, if you have a craving to see a Star Wars movie on the big screen with an added dimension, Episode 1: Phantom Menace is coming out in 3D.

Here’s a sneak peek at each of them:

The Vow

 Safe House

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

Star Wars Episode 1: Phantom Menace 3D

Wowsers – that’s a lot good stuff, eh?  So which one is going to be the big winner at the box office this weekend?

My Prediction is…. “The Vow.”  Tune in today at Noon PST to The Hollywood Insider Show on Tarot Today Radio to find out why!!!

And don't forget to call in for a free Tarot mini-reading!

Tune-In Tonight to The Hollywood Insider Show on Tarot Today Radio!

Looks like it’s going to be another fun weekend at the movies.

The long-anticipated “Shrek” spin-off “Puss in Boots” is opening tomorrow with an all-star (voice) cast. Antonio Banderas plays the title role and Salma Hayek is his love interest. Billy Bob Thornton plays Jack of ‘Jack ‘n Jill’ fame with Amy Sedaris as Jill. Rounding out the cast is funny man Zach Galifianakis playing Humpty Dumpty.

If you remember your nursery rhymes, then you already know not everything is going to go smoothly for these characters, but I can tell you that this animated film looks stunning and is full of laughs and moments that make you go “Awww.”

It looks like Dreamworks is hoping for a multi-species audience. Check out this glamorous Cat Premiere -- Me-wow!

Also in theatres this weekend, Justin Timberlake hits the big screen with the sci-fi crime thriller “In Time.” It’s a very interesting premise for a film – the good news is everyone stops aging at 25. The not so good news is they only get to live one more year after that unless they can buy themselves more time.

Needless to say, the cast is a showcase for young Hollywood with Amanda Seyfried playing Timberlake’s ladylove and Olivia Wilde – surprisingly – playing Timberlake’s mother! (She’s actually 3 years younger than him in real life. Shhh – don’t tell anyone…)

Check out the trailer below.

Looking for something a little different than animated kitties and sci-fi? Johnny Depp takes on a Hunter S. Thompson character in “The Rum Diary.” If you loved Depp in “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” then you’ll definitely like him in this. The book the movie is based on is one of Thompson’s earlier works.

Johnny was very close to Thompson and is excited for people to see this movie because he feels it shows a different side of the Gonzo journalist. Thompson died in 2005, but if you listen to the audio clip below, it sounds like Johnny still feels very connected to him. And, it sure sounds like Depp isn’t ruling out bringing more of Thompson’s work to the big screen.

Tune in Tonight for The Hollywood Tarot Reader on The Rowdy Readers Show

There’s a variety of interesting movie choices this weekend from an arthouse flick like Pedro Almodovar’s “The Skin I live In” starring Antonio Banderas to a creature feature like the remake of “The Thing.” Oh, and speaking of remakes, the new “Footloose” hits theatres this weekend as well!

There’s not too much I can say about “The Skin I Live In” without spoiling the very twisty and surprising plot. So check out the trailer below to get a flavor for the film.

Also, listen below to hear a snippet of my interview with Antonio Banderas as he talks about what it meant to him to reunite with his old friend Almodovar to make “The Skin I Live In” (swoon) I just love his voice!

Ready to ‘cut loose’ with the new “Footloose”? Herbal Essences and Paramount hope you get into the fun by uploading your own dance moves to this site http://www.footloosemovie.com/en_us/#/ to enter the dance “battle” with other Footloosers…but, it’s okay if you don’t want to give away your signature moves, there’s lots of fun videos of ..uh, “interpretive” dance to watch!

Also, you can listen to the audio link below to hear what the lead actors Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough have to say about stepping into the iconic shoes of Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer and making them fit while respecting the original.

Lastly, if you’re a fan of the old “The Thing” and not sure about the new “Thing” then check out the trailers from both to compare. But, personally, I can’t help but wonder what John Carpenter’s version would’ve been like if he had the technology in the ‘80s that the filmmakers of the new movie have today!

Well, that’s all I have for now – tune in Thursday 6pm PST to hear more movie talk and get free mini-readings! Hollywood Insider on The Rowdy Readers Show
